My Morning Jacket will play the new Tuscaloosa Amphitheater on August 19th as a benefit show for Tornado relief. Announced on the website http://www.mymorningjacket.com/gogo/ I'm definitely going to this show, I just hope they don't sell tickets to students first and push all of the ordinary people to the back like they did with Avette Brothers.
Either way its gonna be a great show and tickets go on sale next Friday.

Phosphorescent is also a country twang singer song writer, the song "Reasons to Quit" reminds me of something the Phloid would sit around and listen to. Anywho I'm stoked about MMJ.

ReplyDeleteAt the request of our anonymous poster I gave Neko Case a second listen. Her voice is very strong and she seems to be good at what she is doing, unfortunately I just haven't acquired the slow country cooked taste. The ole ball and chain is also a fan of Neko, so I'm interested to see what kind of band she shows up with. A very talented band could carry Case and make her halfway enjoyable to a non-country fan, but I still don't think she's going to convert me. I'll have to resample Phosphorescent later, but in the mean time you should let me in on what makes these bands so phenomenal.
