I definitely don't think it should go to VY...who knows how the voting would have been affected if RB wasn't eligible? Lienhart might have received more votes.
The hypocrisy of this is mind boggling. I can't believe the Heisman trust would push for this knowing that MANY of winners accepted benefits...and just weren't caught.
That's an excellent point about Pearl! He lied about actually breaking a rule...Bryant just lied..he didn't even break a rule. On a separate note...Its "mute point"**
"One of the few guidelines given to Heisman Trophy voters is that a player must be in compliance with NCAA rules to be eligible for the trophy."
ReplyDeleteI guess that settles that.

@Tidwell: What you really mean is "knowing that many of THEM received improper benefits and just weren't caught."
ReplyDeleteOn a related note, what about Bruce Pearl? If Dez Bryant was suspended for a year for lying to the NCAA why isn't he?

ReplyDeleteOn the same note Tidewell, it's actually 'moot point'. I would think you would have sense enough not to question Billy by now.
ReplyDeleteHaha...I know it is. I'm pretty sure that Billy told me that was a pet peave of his (people typing "mute" when they mean "moot".
